| Operation and Maintenance of Forklifts |
1. Only drivers who have received training and hold a driving license are allowed to drive.
2. Before driving, check all control and alarm devices. If any damage or defects are found, they should be repaired before operation.
3. Do not exceed the specified load when transporting. The forks must be fully inserted under the goods and the goods should be evenly placed on the forks. Do not use a single fork tip to lift the goods.
4. Proceed smoothly during starting, turning, driving, braking and stopping. When driving on wet or slippery roads, slow down when turning.
5. When transporting goods, lower the goods and tilt the mast backward.
6. When driving on a slope, drive carefully. When driving on a slope greater than one-tenth, drive forward uphill and backward downhill. Avoid turning on uphill and downhill. Do not perform loading and unloading operations while the forklift is in motion.
7. When driving, pay attention to pedestrians, obstacles and uneven road surfaces, and also pay attention to the gaps above the forklift.
8. Do not have people standing on the forks. Do not carry people on the vehicle.
9. Do not have people standing under the forks or walking under the forks.
10. Do not operate the vehicle and attachments from positions other than the driver's seat.
11. Do not handle goods that are not fixed or loosely stacked. Handle large-sized goods carefully.
12. For high mast forklifts with a lifting height greater than 3 meters, pay attention to the falling of goods above. Take protective measures when necessary. During operation, try to tilt the mast backward and make small adjustments in the front and rear.
13. When adding fuel, the driver should not be on the vehicle and turn off the engine. Do not start the engine when checking the battery or the liquid level of the fuel tank.
14. When leaving the vehicle, lower the forks to the ground, place the gear lever in the neutral position, turn off the engine, disconnect the power supply, pull the handbrake, and on a slope, use pads to support the wheels.
Maintenance and daily upkeep of forklifts
1. Clean the dirt, mud and debris on the forklift, with particular attention to: the fork frame and door frame slides, the generator and starter, the battery electrode posts, the water tank, the air filter.
2. Check the tightness of each part, with particular focus on: the fork frame support, the tensioning screws of the lifting chain, the wheel screws, the wheel fixing pins, the brakes, the steering screws.
3. Check the reliability and flexibility of the steering mechanism.
4. Check for leaks, with particular attention to: all pipe joints, the diesel tank, the oil tank, the brake pump, the lifting cylinder, the tilting cylinder, the water tank, the water pump, the engine oil pan, the torque converter, the transmission, the drive axle, the main reducer, the hydraulic steering mechanism, the steering cylinder.
5. Check tire pressure: if insufficient, add to the specified value and confirm there is no leakage. Check for any damage to the tire contact surface and sides, and whether the rim is deformed.
6. Check the brake fluid and water levels: check if the brake fluid is within the scale range and check if air is mixed in the brake lines. When adding brake fluid, prevent dust and water from mixing in. When adding water to the water tank, use clean tap water. If using antifreeze, add the same antifreeze. Do not open the water tank cover when the water temperature is above 70°C. When opening the cover, place a thin cloth under your hand and do not wear gloves when turning the water tank cover.
7. Check the engine oil quantity, hydraulic oil, and electrolyte: first remove the oil dipstick, clean the dipstick head, insert it again and pull it out to check if the oil level is between the two scale lines. The oil level in the working oil tank should be between the two scale lines; if too little, air will be mixed in the pipeline, and if too much, it will overflow from the cover plate. The electrolyte of the battery should also be between the upper and lower scale lines. If insufficient, add distilled water to the top line.
8. Check the brake pedal, micro-motion pedal, clutch pedal, and handbrake: step on each pedal and check for any abnormal sluggishness or jamming. The force of the handbrake handle should be less than 300N, and confirm that the handbrake is safe and reliable.
9. Check the tension of the belts, the horn, the lights, and the instruments: check if the belt tension is in accordance with the regulations. If there is no adjustment margin or damage with cracks, replace it; the horn, lights, and instruments should all be normal and effective.
10. Remove the sediment from the oil filter.
