| Types of forklift attachments |
Forklift attachments are working components installed on forklifts to meet the special requirements of various material handling and loading/unloading operations. It has changed the traditional way of material handling, making forklifts a multi-purpose and highly efficient material handling tool. They can perform operations such as forking, clamping, pushing, pulling, rotating and side-shifting on almost any imaginable handling object, thereby improving logistics efficiency, reducing production costs, avoiding product damage and saving storage space. Forklift attachments are widely used in industries such as warehousing, papermaking, packaging, printing, tobacco, home appliances, wine and beverages, wool and cotton textiles, ports and docks, railways, automobile manufacturing, steel smelting, chemical engineering and construction. The correct selection of forklift attachments is one of the effective means for many enterprises to enhance production efficiency and increase profit levels.
There are various types of forklift attachments. The following are some commonly used forklift attachments: Paper Roll Clamp, which can perform efficient and undamaged handling and stacking operations on various types of paper rolls; Soft package Clamp/pulp package Clamp (Bale Clamp /Pule Bale Clamp) can efficiently and economically handle almost any form of soft packages, such as cotton, wool, textile fibers, corrugated boards, white cardboard, rags, hay, and industrial scraps and other soft package materials.
The Sideshifter, which connects the forks and the fork frame, moves the forklift to the left and right through hydraulic drive, adjusting the stacking position of the goods. Good specification configuration optimizes the load-bearing capacity of forklifts.
The Fork Positioner adjusts the distance of the forks through hydraulic drive, avoiding manual adjustment, improving the efficiency of goods handling, reducing labor intensity and minimizing goods damage.
The Drum Clamp is widely used in industries such as petroleum and chemical engineering for handling 55-gallon (250-liter) standard drums. It enables forklifts to safely and stably hold and transport four oil drums at once, avoiding the instability of goods when braking or turning when using traditional forks for clamping.
The Fork Clamp can be used not only to hold goods but also to lift palletized goods, which can accelerate the speed of pallet handling and reduce the wear and damage of pallets.
The Multi-Purpose Clamp is suitable for efficient pallet-free handling of various cardboard boxes, metal boxes, wooden boxes or soft-packed goods.
Tobacco Carton Clamp, suitable for efficient handling of tobacco leaf boxes that have been crushed and re-dried.
The dual-purpose fork clamp (TurnaforkTM) features two adjustable rotation position modes for the arm: horizontal and vertical. Therefore, it integrates the functions of lifting and clamping, making it suitable for both pallet and pallet-free handling scenarios simultaneously.
TurnaforkTM, a rotary fork clamp, is capable of both clamping and conventional pallet handling functions. It can efficiently load, unload and sort loose waste paper, box-shaped and soft-packed goods without pallets or conventional palletized goods.
The Block Clamp is widely used in the building materials, metallurgy and other industries for efficient pallet-free handling of hard block-shaped goods such as cement bricks, concrete blocks and carbon blocks at normal temperature.
Carton Clamp is suitable for efficient pallet-free handling of carton packaging products in the warehousing, beverage, home appliance and electronics industries. It saves the cost of purchasing and maintaining pallets and also saves warehouse space.
Push/Pull devices are used to handle goods placed on skateboards, achieving high-efficiency and low-maintenance-cost pallet-free handling and stacking operations. It is suitable for the following typical working conditions: bagged goods (such as cement, fertilizers, grains, seeds, sugar, etc.), boxed goods (such as cartons/cans/frozen food, beverages, paper products, small household appliances, cosmetics, etc.) and glass-bottled goods (such as beer, beverages, alcohol, etc.).
Others include Rotator, Bar Arm Clamp, Forward Bin Dumper, Layer Picker, Tyre Clamp, etc.
After more than half a century of promotion and application, the forklift attachments manufacturing industry has gradually developed into a relatively independent industry category. As an efficient handling machine, forklift attachments have been widely and long-term applied in developed countries such as Europe, America and Japan.
